New album update #2 – pre-order live on bandcamp!

The Brass Neck! pre-order page is up and running on bandcamp! Very grateful to those that have placed an order already – thank you so much for the support, it means a lot 🙂

You can now hear the first 3 tracks, inspired by the early years of the blues – a solo slide guitar number, a guitar and harmonica duo with Lyndon Anderson, and an early electric blues combo with Phil Moore on double bass and Phil Muriel on drums.

And we’ve already had some airplay – thanks to Gary Grainger for playing the songs on the Bishop FM blues show! You can hear the shows on mixcloud.

More tracks to come over the coming days and I’ll announce a proper release date soon. I’m just finalising the artwork while Dee at Ginger Music finishes the mastering and then it’ll all be sent off to produce a limited run of CDs.

If you pre-order a CD, you get the digital versions of the songs as soon as they are released and the CDs will be sent out as soon as they arrive. As Bev and I are now back in the van headed to Spain, I’ve had to enlist someone to handle the posting – thanks Mam!

New Album!

New Album! It’s been a long, long time coming, but I’m very pleased to say a new album is on the way.

10 original songs, arranged in styles loosely inspired by various shades of the blues over the last century. It starts off with echoes of the Mississippi delta – stomping resonator slide guitar and a heartfelt holler – and each track builds on that musical foundation. There’s hints of folk blues, Memphis sounds, Southern rock, soul, blues-rock and more modern interpretations. I’ve got some fantastic guests lined up and it’s sounding great.

Loads still to do though – may need some help/advice from those in the know! More details soon.
